Get to Know Hilda
Hilda was picked up as a stray and went unclaimed during her hold. Sadly. she hasn't had the best of luck in life so far. She was showing signs of kennel cough when she first arrived, so she was placed in isolation while she got better. Once she was feeling better, shew as processed for the adoption floor and sadly tested positive for heartworm disease. She has been treated and her restrictions are now lifted. Her adopter should be aware she will need a follow-up with the vet to ensure the treatment was successful and keep her on preventative for life. Hilda is an absolute doll, loving everyone she meets. All she wants is to be close and get belly rubs. She walks very well on a leash and knows certain commands. It even seemed as if she asked permission before she jumped up on the sofa, resting her head and giving a look, then a paw and a head tilt, then she was up and asking for approval. Hilda seems like she would do well with children, but can be a little much for other dogs, so we highly recommend a meet and greet before she goes to a home with another dog.
