Meet Veruca

Veruca came to the shelter after her owner was moving and unable to bring her pets. Coming from a home with other cats, she was housed in the cat colony so she can continue to socialize. We're giving her space and time to adjust to the big switch, but she seems to be doing well so far. She is more laid-back than the others, keeping to herself instead of playing or approaching visitors. She enjoys pets and jaw rubs, but won't ask for them. It takes a bit for her to come out and lay on your lap, usually just watching and napping in the sun. We're confident she will fully come out of her shell in no time and start interacting with the other cats in her room.
