Officers
Marilyn Davis
Role: President
Company: Chief of Staff/Board Secretary, Millikin University
Marilyn Davis has been a long standing member of the Decatur and Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation of Directors and has Co-Chaired the annual Whiskers and Tails event for several years.. She has been employed at Millikin University since 1991 and serves as the Chief of Staff/Board Secretary in the President’s Office and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Marketing in the Tabor School of Business. During her tenure, she has served six Millikin University Presidents. Marilyn holds two degrees from Millikin University: a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing, Class of 2000, and a Master in Business Administration, Class of 2011.
Marilyn’s fur child is Charlie Daniels Davis, an adorable Pomeranian she adopted from the shelter in 2013.
Marilyn is very involved in the Decatur community currently serving on the Boards of the Decatur and Macon County Animal Foundation, James Millikin Homestead, and Decatur Area Arts Council.
Carol Craig
Role: Vice President
Company: Sr. V.P. & Sr.Trust Officer, Trust & Investment Services, Town and Country Bank
Carol has been a member of the Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation since 2014. She is on the finance committee and is a co-chair of the Whiskers and Tails Gala. She wholeheartedly embraces the Decatur and Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation's mission of providing support to the Macon County Animal Care and Control Facility to ensure that all stray, lost or abandoned small animals are provided food and shelter, quality veterinary care and the when possible, the chance of adoption. The Foundation and the County have a strong and cooperative relationship that is a model for other communities.
Michelle O'Bryan

Michelle is a true animal lover and proud to be a part of the Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation since 2015 where she has the opportunity to improve the lives of homeless and mistreated animals on a daily basis. She believe that all animals deserve to have basic needs met - food, shelter, warmth, and affection. To see an animal blossom from a terrible past into a healthy, beautiful, loving and trusting creature is such a reward. She loves seeing the success stories that began at our shelter and the human-animal bond that is formed in the pet's "furever" home.

Dr. Larry Baker
Role: Board Member
Company: Owner, DVM, Northgate Pet Clinic
Larry has been the owner of Northgate Pet Clinic for 46 years. Larry spent his first year out of school at the largest small animal practice in Little Rock, Arkansas. He has been a board member for 4 years. He is on the board to advocate for the advanced care for animals (mostly dogs and cats) that are in need of care.
Ryan Dobey
Role: Board Member
Company: Commercial Banking Officer, Hickory Point Bank
Ryan is a Commercial Banking Officer at Hickory Point Bank & Trust in the Bank’s Commercial Banking Division. In this role, Ryan works with a variety of area businesses and real estate professionals. Ryan is an advocate for animals in the community and enjoys helping them on their journeys to find compassionate homes. Prior to joining Hickory Point Bank, Ryan worked as an accounting intern at Heavner, Beyers, & Mihlar, LLC and in the Millikin Alumni and Development Office. Ryan is originally from the St. Louis area but has lived in Decatur since 2015. Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and an MBA from Millikin University. Ryan is active in the local community, having completed the Decatur Leadership Institute program, as a member of Decatur Rotary, as a board member of the Richland Community College Foundation, and as a board member of the Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation
Sally Duncan
Role: Board Member
Company: President, First Community Bank of Moultrie County Hardware Bank
Sally has always loved animals and feel that by serving on the board, she could help the homeless animals in some small way. She joined the board in 2016.
Kirsten Hinton
Role: Board Member
Company: Manager, Pops Place Bar and Spirits
Kirsten is a Banking Center Officer and Banking Center Manager at Hickory Point Bank and Trust. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Millikin University in 2019. Kirsten joined the Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation in 2021. She has 5 animals, 3 dogs and 2 cats, all rescues. Kirsten is passionate about all animals and believe they deserve a perfect life, full of love and compassion.
Kim Schwalbach
Role: Board Member
Company: PUPS
For the past 40 years, Kim Schwalbach has resided in the Decatur area. She is a professional dog groomer and has owned several grooming businesses throughout her career.
In her most recent role, she taught dog grooming for more than 15 years at the Decatur Correctional Center. During that time, she created the CLIP Program (Correctional Ladies Improving Pets) and groomed thousands of unwanted or lost pets from the animal shelter thereby making them look more adoptable.
Kim is passionate about animals and showed Salukis for 18 years. She is married to John Schwalbach and the two have four children together. When she isn't grooming, Kim likes to camp with her family and explore national parks.
Shirley Stanley
Role: Board Member
Company: Registered Dietitian, Retired from Decatur Memorial Hospital
Shirley is a registered dietitian by profession and worked as a Clinical Dietitian at DMH for forty-five years. She is an advocate for ballet and animal advocacy, and focuses on doing both within this community. She still takes ballet classes and continues to be involved with the presentation of ballet events at Kirkland Fine Arts Center, Millikin University. The largest of these was The Nutcracker in 2017 with the Moscow Ballet and the 50 member Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra in the pit.
Shirley joined the board of the newly formed Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation in 2001, which was founded to raise funds to build a badly needed replacement animal shelter facility. The new shelter became a reality in 2006. The Foundation continues to raise funds to fulfill the commitment to support quality care of homeless animals in our area, to work toward adoptions and education regarding responsible pet ownership. She originated and initiated awareness and fundraising special events for the Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation through events such as Furry Scurry, All American Dog Birthday Party, Tour de Paws. In 2005, she approached WAND-TV to begin appearances, on the 5:00 evening news, with adoptable animals from the shelter. That news segment has resulted in over 1,000 homeless pets being adopted after being featured on the news.
Shirley is a member of the committee to plan the Fido Fields Dog Park, in conjunction with the Decatur Park District, which opened in 2007, in Fairview Park. The Fido Fields East later opened in Nelson Park.
She is a past-president of the Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation.
Her husband is Dr. Paul Stanley and together they have a German Shepherd dog and a kitten.

Prescott Paulin

Prescott serves as a DMCASF Board Member with interest in improving customer service and animal control response times for citizens of Macon County, as well as ensuring safe and humane conditions for animals housed at the shelter.
Dr. Shelly Stevens

Company: Co-Owner, DVM, Fairview Hospital for Animals
Shelly Stevens, DVM is co-owner of Fairview Hospital for Animals at 1090 W. South Side Dr. Decatur, IL. She has been on the DMCASF Board since it's inception and has served in every position on the executive board. Dr. Stevens served as Macon County Rabies Control Administrator from 2001-2008 to help design and raise funds to build the new animal shelter on Parkway Drive. "I serve on the Board to give a voice to our furry friends who are voiceless but deserve loving families to adopt and care for them". Fairview Hospital for Animals performs dozens of spays/neuters for the Foundation's TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program and for the shelter BARN program annually, helping to control the feral feline population in Decatur and Macon County.
