Join Us for a Shelter Celebration!

Macon County Animal Control and Care Center is celebrating 20 years in our current shelter building, and we would love for the community to join us!

Stop by on Saturday, June 27th from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM for an afternoon of fun, food, family activities, and adoptable animals. This special event will celebrate 20 years in our shelter building, the universal birthday of shelter dogs and cats, and the retirement of shelter alum Lady Mary.

Guests can enjoy a food truck with $5 lunch meals, face painting, balloon animals by a clown, door prizes, special adoption giveaways, and a chance to meet some of the wonderful animals currently waiting for homes.

We will also be recognizing Lady Mary and her owner, Foundation Board Member and Humane Educator Kim S., for their years of service through the PUPS program, which helps teach children throughout Macon County about kindness, compassion, and responsible pet ownership.

Bring the whole family and help us celebrate 20 years of shelter memories, community support, and second chances for animals in Macon County.
