Adopt

Why Adopt?

Welcoming a shelter pet in to your family and home has many benefits. Through adopting, you are helping a local animal find a "fur-ever" home and also controlling the pet population. Each adopted animal is already spayed or neutered. When you adopt, you are also not supporting the breeding practices of puppy mills and back yard breeders.

The Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation (DMCASF) frequently offers adoption specials. When you adopt a shelter pet, you can feel proud about helping an animal in need! When you adopt, you save two lives. Adopting not only helps to save the life of the animal you are adopting, but also creates space for another pet in need of a safe place to stay until its forever family can be found.
